This ply has a strip core instead of the blocks we see, but the outer plies are horizontal, something i would tend to avoid. Price is equivalent to about 416 euro for a 4x8 (1220x2440) sheet. That compares to about $300 USD for a sheet of ply here.

Same thing in the US is equivalent to about $595 USD/sheet

Seems expensive.
These peeps in the US charge US$185 for a 4'x8' 3/4" sheet of bamboo ply.
3/4 Inch Carbonized Vertical Bamboo Plywood - Cali Bamboo - Cali Bamboo

A similar sized of 24mm finnish birch ply goes for £80 in the UK.
At $600 (£425) I'd expect custom-made ply for which I choose the different layers of wood, mica or damping material (they do that, mostly for noise/footfall suppression in boat building). That said while I found a UK company which specialises in custom ply I have not yet asked them for an exact quote.

CaliBamboo is where I get my Bamboo Plywood from. I'm totally addicted to this material. Once you had filet, it's hard to go back to balonghi Yes it's expensive, but sure worth it! Just recently built a "layertoned" children's desk for an Optometry office... a set of Fruglel Horn XL out of Bamboo Plywood coming up soon!

Charles - I think that as long as you survived your youth with all limbs and physical / mental functions mostly intact, it wasn't entirely misspent .

Tony - looking forward to seeing the FHXLs in bamboo - I love the stranded myself, but as I get overly anal about grain / pattern matching with veneers, I can imaging them getting a bit spendy.

For sure, Chris, I've used natural vertical before, but this time I got 2 sheets of the horizontal natural... free from winning the February 2016 Project of the Month Contest

That's cool. But I'm biased as I am an optometrist by day funnily enough.

I had friends agonising over turning thirty (well passed that now). By my reckoning many should have celebrated for making it passed 19......

Bamboo is all about that end pattern from what I can tell and can well imagine getting anal about getting the edges right.
