expanded metal, or metal mesh as speaker grille?

Has anyone used expanded metal, or mesh as a grille on large speakers? I'm hoping to find some pictures of what it looks like.

Sadly it is cheaper to buy something made out of mesh or expanded metal then it is to actually buy the metal itself.
I bought some flat mesh filing things at bed bath and beyond and made these grills but cutting them then tapping the edges down with a hammer and using a dab of silicone to make them stay there. These are my rear surround speakers using a 4" CTS full range speaker.

Nice! i would have been ocd and made a strip to act as an edge band and epoxied that on or soldered the mesh to it... nice brass band...got ask my shrink if it means something that i want to assemble everything by means of solder...

hahaha, I discovered a green herb that tends to let my ocd expire quickly, then again my wallet keeps my ocd in check too.
