Hi 🙂

I've seen the forum through audio searches before, and decided to join as I've a few (audio) projects on the go at the moment.

Got interested after a work colleague mentioned he was building a Douglas Self six-pack amp set up with active crossovers, so I'm currently designing a chip amp based competitor to those.

I'm not too qualified on the analogue side, but have designed / built and programmed my own MCU based systems for a while now. (5-10yrs)

Currently, I'm listening to a dual LM3886 setup in a plastic box from Maplins - I won't sully the good name of gain clones - but I'm impressed with the sound, even into car speakers mounted in makeshift plyboard cabinets. I can already hear some of you raising eyebrows or sucking air through your teeth, but this is a start, and I can at least now improve in increments...

Ttfn,
the gabbleduck 🙂
