ESS AMT Heil Monitors with Heil Tweeter


I have a friend who a few years ago. Who refurbed the woofers on these, and now wants to sell them. Im a bit reluctant to buy anything made from late 70's. But these are in good condition. Any thoughts?

The "Great Heil" midrange/tweeters have a strong following. Parted out from the speakers, they go for hundreds of dollars each.

Last I looked the Great Heil went for $350ea new. Very solid design and one of the reasons I like AMT's. Replacement ribbon go for around $80.

If there was one state of the art design from the 70's that has stood the test of time it is these. Had heard some months back about ESS getting back into the fray again with new offerings to come, possibly next year.

If they are the "Rock" Monitor, you should snap them up. But I should say all the speakers that used the Big *** Heil where great sounding.
