Is it because the Heil have wider dynamic range and do not compress at higher SPL, like the mid/woofers they are paired with?Yes, I would like a bit more subtle AMT. Thanks.
Have you heard them?

So I tried the Fast 15s again, this time rolled off around 150Hz. No distortion, must of been something in the program material. So think I will try to mate the Heils to the Liis first, similar to what Decware has done (but with double Beta 15s slot loaded, for the bass assist). The center to center spacing won't be optimum, shall see if it is audible.Johnvb,
Just play around with the setup. The Heil's are so versatile and fun. I think a really good crossover or even parametic EQ would be helpful. Look at Decware's crazy new setup, no Heil, but he was thinking about it.
Here is a picture.

As long as we are posting AMT pics, mine are Emerald Physics CS2 clones, but with AMT Tweeters.
Just two Eminence Alpha 15A on a 3/4" thick particle board Open Baffle with AMT tweet. Cheapest speaker I ever made.
I was running them Biamped crossed at 1k with MiniDSP (and EQ'ed by REW), but have since slapped together a 1st order Series crossover at 1k with a little EQ....real sweet.
Driven by Hypex NC400, a KSA-50 clone, or a Quicksilver 8417 clone amp, depending on how I feel...

Those are cool! What is the amazonian legging-like covering? That seems ideal for an OB build for the lower frequencies!
Black Speaker Fabric from Parts Express. When it goes on sale, I buy a ton of it...
Pulled out my wife's sewing machine and made a nice super tight pillow case sleeve... like I said, cheap....and sexy.
Kinda reminds me of those tight skirt dresses from the 90's.
