A question for those knowing more about the ESL internals:
Why did QUAD use such poor quality grey paint on the stators and on the dust covers that so easily peel off, leaving paint particles all around? Has anybody found a better alternative method of hiding the internals?

You can use a primer for plastics. Or buy in a car shop some spray paint for bumpers.
Yet this will not be perfect match wrt colours.
