Hi,
I am certain that I read about a ESL power supply that was fed from the audio signal rather than mains power.
Anyone that can provide a link to that posting? I have been searhing for 2 nights without finding it.

What do you think you gain by using the loudspeaker signal instead of the mains to generate the high voltage supply?

I doubt anybody would try to argue that signal driven bias supplies are somehow sonically superior to mains driven supplies.
However there are gains in convenience, and asthetics.
One less set of connections to deal with, and you no longer have to have "unsightly" power wires running to each speaker from the nearest wall outlet...which might not be as near as you'd like.
