I would be happy with a "Modified V3" with just the i2s, omitting the WM8804 bits.
Than you for even considering this!!

Hello all -
Looks like there is quite some interest on I2S only DAC. Its doable, but like JP mentioned we had few plans for it when we were working on v3. Give us few more days and will talk to JP and propose something.
No promises yet 🙂.
Cheers!

maybe you guys should start a kickstarter project to gather some R&D funding....
as for my 2 cents... modular components. thanks again guys!

I received my PCB and IC today. Great guys, very appreciated. I didn't receive the schematics and BOM though. Can you send them to me?
Thanks..

Well, my purchase was done after the fact and I was not kind part of the official GB, so I may had been forgotten in the process. I dealt directly with Subbu and I never received an email when I paid for the boards.
Could you handle this directly with Subbu just the way you got the boards. I don't think the world needs to know any small inconvenience that might occur getting boards, BOM etc. nor will asking all members solve anything.
Just think how things went in your case and multiply that by 500 and think that we do this all in our spare time. Thank you.

An i2s only version of this dac that's can be put on top of the P5 header of a raspberry pi (ala hifiberry) would make the best squeezebox clone ever !
just got my DACs sent by Korben69. Great stuff.
thank you all for your involvement on this V3 !

Hello Subbu, JP said you found some PCB left.
If you make an another BG, please +1 for me for a PCB and a DAC chip.

Hi everyone,
I just start to build this DAC. I got a quick question. Can I use 12.8Mhz OSC for WM8804? Since I heard the 12Mhz is only for internal circuits to work, WM8804 will use PLL to generate output clocks. I ask because I found a very high quality 12.8Mhz OCXO, and I'd like to know if I can use it.

Please use 12 MHz. Don't listen what people say, better read the data sheet:

Thanks. That explains everything.
JP there will be any bnefit in using a high precision TCXO 12 mhz instead of that plain 12mhz quartz ?
