Hi guys,
My Technics EQ SH-8017 is a switched type; ie if you turn it of output should equal to input. The point is, if I also unplug the unit the sound goes. There is no relay inside I can see or hear the click. So, are there some switching transistors which do the job? If so, what would be their effect on sound quality? Thanks.
Cheers,
Murat

Usually any eq or external processor is situated at the tape loop of a preamplifier. In this case simply switching the preamp between tape (eq on) and source (eq off) will allow equalized or unequalized output from the preamp.
