I've read quite a few threads where guys have used this combo and have been pretty happy with the results. My question is about amps and equalization mainly. I could get a 500 or 1000 watt plate amp with built in parametric EQ to deal with the frequency roll off of a sealed driver, or will Audyssey MultEQ XT32 give enough EQ to compensate? If so I could get a more powerful rack amp. Would that work?
How do people with sealed*passive subs and stand alone amplifiers deal with EQ?

When I built my last few subs, plate amps weren't available, nor were nice computer-programmable crossover/eq systems. Lifted the circuit from Linkwitzlab.com (1972 article), and hand-wired it. Still working just fine.
Personally, I would build a stand alone LT circuit and then use any amp that satisfies the power requirments.
I don't like the thought of using DSP for high EQ gains. A LT filter can easily have +15dB of gain.
