1/4 WL (BP4) becomes (BP6) in enclosed vehicles, so the interior's net Vb needs to be factored into the design for best results IME, so is tough to get right unless the #/size of passengers is constant.
In 2010, I went from 136kg to 86kg in three months. Sub was an Earthquake Magma 15 ported at 35hz and running off a JL Audio 1000/1 in a Holden Adventra LX8. But I was too busy catching up after 15yrs to notice 😀

The green is a simple parallel Helmholtz …. The other is a 1/4 wave equivalent (paraflex)that is very strange right around that second resonace when the whole box is ringing .

I really like the way the 6th order Helmholtz sounds until you drive the heck out of it to try and get as loud as the 1/4 wave thing….. but the 1/4 wave thing sounds freaking weird and the big open exit doesn’t seem to filter any of that like a port or maybe a tapered pipe shape to a smaller exit doesn’t seem to either ?

All of this is fastinating to compare and contrast the good/bad and fixable. Especially once you listen to them and realize there’s more to it than that frequency response shape if it gets to ringing and won’t shut up

@GM
Is this the pipe resonance thing? The one that is activated by air speed? Resonances set off at multiples of the frequency playing thing? Sounds in the use band setting of higher resonances and not from the higher frequency content of the audio signal types thing? Cant be filtered out as it's created after the xover

The down pipe from my roof howls like crazy once the flow is high during a torrent. These types of things happening in the TL?
