Yesteday I killed my Kogi 14" because the Vertical and Horizontal controllers where connected by a small cable so I tried to hack around it and destroyed my screen!:dead: It's ok cause I got it for so cheap from Compusa with the 2 mail-in rebates.

So I was searching the board to find another one without the two controllers connected together and I saw that most people use the NEC 1545V, however it cannot be found in stores anymore. So I saw this one post of a guy using the Envision EN-5100e http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=284789&pfp=SEARCH and it was available in store so I went to picked it up and started the stressful process of dismantling it.

All the way down to the actual LCD screen, I was so happy to find out that the two boards were not connected together by a stupid ribbon cable! Woohoo, I yelled, and the best part is that when you take out the backlight, you can reassamble the frame so that the LCD is protected inside of the frame and can be carried around like a projection panel!

Anyway I just wanted to share this with you, if you want to have a better CR and RT, you can pick up the EN-5200e, which is a little more expensive.

So my setup is now:
--------------------------
1) 15" Envision EN100e
(Very Easy to dismantle + no boards connector)
2) Apollo Concept 2250 (4000 Lumens)

List of Usable LCD's (That I know of):
-----------------------------------------------
NEC 1545V
NEC 1550V
Samsung SyncMaster 150MP
Envision EN-5100e
Envision EN-5200e

you said you can assemble it back so its like a projection panel, One question where are the Controller boards when its " assembled" again, are they still flapping around? can you take some pics of it, sounds interesting to say the least.

I will try to post some pics when I get home, but to explain it better, the vertical and horizontal boards are embeded in the LCD glass around the screen. So when you assemble the frame back, you have this nice looking frame that you can carry around. When you want to use it, you connect the frame to the main board via a cable that be easily connected and disconnected when needed. I tell ya it's awesome, the frame looks cool too sitting on the OHP, and no fear of scratching the surfaces!🙂

I hope I am not the jinxing your setup but I just did a google for the Envision EN-5100e and a number of reviewer's said that the lcd died or faded after a number of months. I hope this doesn't happen with yours...please keep us informed.
