I need to know how small a box I can build for these little woofers and still get decent bass.
I am taking a set of those aluminum mini speakers
(previous thread) http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=32136&highlight=
and mounting them on a short pedestal on top of these new boxes I want to build. The woofer is the Tang Band 6.5 and the Vas is 14.65 litres. I would like to make them smaller. I am not good at computers and would like someone to help me design them.
Sealed or ported, you tell me. The smaller the better. I don't think I need to go below 50 Hz. I would like them to be downfiring. The boxes will be on little feet.
Here is the woofer:

I will have a plate amp in each cabinet. The plate amp will feed the little aluminum speakers. The highpass will be at 100 Hz or so

Can someone please help me, I'm in the mood to spend a little cash and I already have more than enough of the big stuff.
Thank a lot,
Cal

I get 3.5 Litres (Internal Volume), QTc .707 Heavy Fill
Nice Speaker!! Lots of Xmax (11.5mm) this'll handle 120 watts without exceeding Xmax!!!!!
Sensitivity is low 83 db, but seperatly powered that would'nt be a problem...
Box Dimensions using 3/4" boards - External Width 7 1/4", Height 7 1/4", Depth 10 3/4"
For a 3.55 Litre (.13 cu. ft.) Enclosure...
This is a heavily stuffed box with polyfill or dacron.
Box does'nt have to be my dimensions. they're only used as an example...

Thanks RJ,
If that box is sealed and stuffed and will give me down to about 50Hz, then that sounds good to me. It's even smaller than I would have thought.

To get to 50 Hz. You could go to a 8.6 Litre or .3 Cu. Ft.
Heavily stuffed again. QTc = .550
Very Tight Bass at this size.
The earlier posted size will only get you to 70 Hz before falloff or F3.

OK that's great.
Thanks very much RJ.
The parts were ordered since my last post via international expedited air mail. So that means I should get them before Christmas with any luck.
