Enclosure design ideas???

Anyone have any links or pictures of some different (not your usual square or rectange) enclosures.

Looking for some ideas to build an aesthetically pleasing, yet different enclosure.

I recently saw an enclosure where the two front side edges were chamfered for about half the length of the side, and the top front top edge was chamfered. Thought it looked pretty good.

Have to keep the wife happy 😉

I think the Emerald Towers qualify!

They're made using the full length of Cubicon 12" D-tubes, purchased from http://www.aitwood.com.

Add a solid oak top cap, pine bottom cap and particleboard base, wrap with hunter green velvet, and voila!

As a bonus, they sound great too. Oh yeah, and the chicks dig 'em. So far, 100% approval from the girls, with the guys, probably about 30%, based on appearance alone. This was not intentional, but I'll take it. Probably means I won't have put them away if I ever get a girlfriend. 🙂

hey dave,
i really like your tube idea. Is the piece that has the star like cut out in it a port for the bottom or is that a mounting location to reduce vibrations.

The shape of the terminus -- it is a miniTL -- is the way it is because the tool i had to make the hole was a 1 1/4" drill.

oh okay i understand now, very good idea. thank you for replying so soon. i think i am going to try to build something similar for my rear surround speakers. will let you know how they turn out.
