enclosure configuration via ports

my current enclosure allows the different configurations.

sealed
1)ports blocked -> red
vented
2)both ports open -> green (tuned @32.5 hz)
3)one port blocked, the other open -> yellow (tuned @ 23 hz)

attached are gain and group delay charts from winisd

(the white line is a shiva in 3.88 cu. ft sealed box for .6 qtc)

basically, my question is which config would be my best choice
for sq and which for deep bass?

i think that having both ports open gives you by dar the best seat rumbling bass for movies and some electronic music, this may sound great with other music as well, it depends on the woofer, but what you are doing is great, leaving options, good work😀
build it and then use it open ported and listen to movies and music see what you think, then listen to the same music and movies with it sealed and also half open.
you be the judge of what you like most, but the dual open ports will definately give you the most HT bass😀 😀 😀
good luck

There's no question that the green alignment will
appear to have the most bass and power handling.

The other factors are placement of the sub and
your room gain, basically your room size.

One alignment may suit your room better than
the others, if its the sealed box, you will get
tight clean bass. But as you can see efficiency
in the low bass is not good.

If its the 23Hz tuning, it will be able to produce
a lot more really low bass than the sealed box.

So you really have to try them all.

Possibly the ideal is four ports, two giving you
23Hz,and four giving you 32.5Hz, so three gives
you another intermediate alignment.
Or 3 ports for 32.5Hz, with the option of two.

🙂 sreten.
