Hello everyone,
I'm going to build the Scanspeak Rediscovery Kit, the 20L version sold by Madisound, and was thinking about using a baffle made out of old hard wood (already dried). I used solid Cedar baffle (light hard wood) for a similar box for the Fostex FF165WK and the results were good.
Another option was a 5/8" solid aluminum plate for baffle with CNC machined holes, well braced to the side walls, witch would be plywood.
Having said that only the baffle would be made out of these different materials, does anyone have any thoughts about it, why do it 🙂 or why not do it 😡 ?
I know that metal has resonance problems, but it would be really, really stiff.
Thanks !
