Given that the wavelength at 10Khz is 1.356 inches, one could wonder how anything as minute and imprecise as little sub millimeter dots (x,y,z) on a 6" or 8" cone would have any influence whatsoever, other than appealing to one's subjective conjecture, hence I agree, there is no technical argument
You've said a number of things that indicate that you have a "very limited" amount of familiarity with the process. Just throwing out opinions without facts is not recommended.
Best Regards,
TerryO
Excuse me but this is supposed to be the technical thread not the "I know what I heard thread." I think after browsing through over 1000 posts that it's clear what Enabl does........nothing except let you decorate your driver with "pretty" little dots 😀 Please note my previous post where I quoted John K's results and his "opinion" of why the untreated cone was actually better than the treated. Sorry but get your facts straight next time.

hi,
Yes, this thread is rabidly abused by those that got there own
"subjective" thread but can't maintain any technical rigour here.
And what a pile of utter nonsense that thread is, amusing at best.
rgds, sreten.

So it would appear in almost five years and 1338 posts there is only one before and after comparison of the same speaker, the one done by John K., the results of which show a near identical FR and impulse response, posted below.
That is correct.
Bud

Ok, I didn't think you knew what you're talking about. You have absolutely nothing to offer except someone else's opinion about something you haven't (evidently) experienced or bothered to try or possibly don't even understand. Having heard "lots" of treated drivers, I know that there is something happening that defintely changes the sound. I'm not overly impressed by John K, not that that he doesn't have a respecticable reputation, but I know a number of people with far more impressive credentials, that have different ideas than John does when it comes to driver design.
You have asked me to get my facts straight. It would help if you actually knew something factual yourself, before judging me or others.

*Yawn* how about you contributing to this technical discussion or please go to the other Enabl thread instead? How many time do I have to repeat myself that this is NOT the "I know what I heard" thread? I am sorry if you don't accept the FACTS that John K's "opinion" is in FACT an OBJECTIVE one that he derived from the MEASUREMENTS that he took unlike yourself and countless others on here that just want to submit subjective blather as "proof"? You can "argue" till the cows come home but if you don't have any OBJECTIVE proof then kindly shut it.Here is a FACT for you, you don't have any proof what-so-ever that Enabl works other than your SUBJECTIVE say so.
What thriller? The ending has already been confirmed ages ago. Nothing to see here and no plot twists. The Emperor has no clothes.
I'm a boo-bird and even I have no doubt that doing this changes the sound. What about if ...Ok, I didn't think you knew what you're talking about. Wait, I don't know if I want to get into this. There's plenty of people on this forum who are smarter and more knowledgeable than me who can make the usual suggestions involving scientific investigation. But so far, what I've seen of this thing is a lot more heat than light.
It's not the tech that's thrilling (not here, anyway), it's the drama!Oooh, yay! I've got my popcorn...I LOVE technical thrillers.
Now that you mention it, how would a popcorn-treated driver sound?

Infinty used to make tweeters that looked like large popcorn coated buttons ...think they were called poly foam (?) and perhaps they moved to Genesis when Arnie did. Too long ago to remember anything, other than how strange they looked and how awful they sounded.
I am sure that they sounded fine to the test equipment, too bad we cannot get an opinion out of those boxes. Just interpretations made by monkeys without tails, about what the squiggly lines might indicate about how pleasing they might be to other monkeys, who had better accept that the squiggly lines are the ultimate arbiter of what they may hear.
Any other received information is just the devil trying to entice you into a mistake, big enough to ensure your entry through that gate, across the bridge of shame, past which you should give up all hope of hearing something you might recognize as music, because you have entered into the realm of hypnotized, mass delusion infected, socially inadequate subjectivists.
Bud
🙄 Bud, go back to your subjective thread if all you have to do lately is to TRY to insult those who use objective measurements instead of bowing down to your "superior" intellect. Talk about a lame post. So tell us what major speaker manufacturer is using your Enabl process since it's so great and all? Should be plenty if it's that good yes?
...such as those who brought the world Tice Clocks and Totem Beaks, the latter link dated Feb 22, 2012 of this long-available device described as "computer-designed aluminum bullets ($125/pair)". Ah yes, paragons of virtuous subjectivism, we must believe the claims, lest we devolve into those who rely upon "interpretations made by monkeys without tails".... because you have entered into the realm of hypnotized, mass delusion infected, socially inadequate subjectivists
Skepticism be damned, I...will...believe.

That's a lot of talk from a person that can only ride the coat tails of others and then attempts to assume some sort of smug "cloak" of superiority. You certainly must think pretty highly of yourself the way that you jump to conclusions without any supporting evidence.
Hi,
Could the tedious subjectivists stop flogging a long dead horse ?
Not a chance it seems, they prefer their own opinions too much.

Wow, well lets see the evidence YOU supply showing Enabl works? I won't be holding my breath. By the way you are beginning to sound desperate when all you can come up with are lame posts like this. I also asked Bud and let me now ask you, show me a speaker manufacturer that is using Enabl. More like UnAbl😉

If Bud were the only one throwing around insults, I might agree. The plot thickens...better get another bowl.

So what are you contributing other than being a **** stirrer? Go watch some car wrecks if that's your interest in being here. This is supposed to be the technical discussion thread but since Bud and Terryo have ignored my requests to show us proof or even one speaker manufacturer that uses Enabl, it's just more subjective drivel from those two. No surprise really since the post count has now risen to 1360 and they are grasping at straws to try to show something relevant.
