G'day Ed,
Got my kit today.
Can't wait to start practicing on some cheaper drivers.
Then when I'm feeling confident - time to attack the FE167E's!
Many thanks,
Alex

G'day dave,
There will soon be some more EnABL'd drivers in Oz now that I have Ed's kit!
I haven't bought phase plugs yet, but they are on my shopping list and yes they will be EnABL'd too along with driver basket, magnet and legs.
Cheers,
Alex

Dave,
I'm just reading these links and may have missed something. Do you apply the Mod-Podge first? Are you still using Damar? Is the three lobbed pappern I see on some pictures from the Mod-Podge? I have down loaded the EnABL pattern and plan to try on a pair of FE167. Any other mods I should try prior to the EnABL? I already have green iso-damp on the frame legs and some on the back of the magnet. I have yet to install the phase plugs (working on a DIY Balsa wood pair).

The only place i use damar is to create the tri-foil (3-lobed pattern) on the FE126 & FE127. This goes on before the puzzlekoat (aka mod-podge). The pattern with the help of the mod-podge help tame the 7k peak -- the mod-podge also does other things)
There is an on-going thread on modding the FE167 which has some good info.

Ed,
Are you still offering these kits and can I pay by Paypal? I'm in the UK.
Is there any option of visible paint, as I'd prefer to see the pattern, especially whilst painting it?
I think this is a great idea as I'd love to try EnABL on some drivers (I already bodged the pattern onto my baffles, with some audible effect).
Thanks,
Simon

SimontY,
Kits are available. $30 to all destinations outside the USA.
A spectrum of visible paints are available, though not in my stock. Your choice would be a special order from the Floquil flat finishes.
The Floquil 404106 flat finish is white in the bottle, and dries clear.

Ed,
Thanks for your reply. That website doesn't state which are flat, can I just pick any colour? I'd just be after something subtle enough on black cones that can still easily be seen, e.g.

Sorry to be a PITA!

I use tarnished black for that.

Hi Dave,
Is that the brownish colour I see on these?

Does that show up on black cones too?
Thanks,
Simon

The brown i use is called "rust". I have done at least one set of black cones with it. The constrast is quite subtle, but they end up nice.
dave
Rust sounds good, thanks for the help guys. I'll e-mail in a few days when there's some Paypal funds I can use, assuming I can pay via PP.

Hi Ed,
I am interested in an EnABL kit.
This is my first post and the system would not allow me to email you direct. Please send me instructions how to order.
Thanks,
I see you are a construction manager. Me too!

A note: it seems the nib that i have been calling a 66 is actually a 99. Might make it easier to find the right one.

Sshhh...I've been providing a 56 all along...? 😕 We have collectively been mute.
