EMS LB8Mk2 box design

Yves,
I like the Alpair 10p because of it's non fatiquing vintage character. After break-in would you consider EMS speakers to be bright and fatiquing or more like the Alpair 10p?
Do you know what the difference is between the classic, ie LB7 and the EX series, ie LB7EX ?? Are the EX worth the extra investment?

hello, lb6 and 7 are softer than my maop10.2 they have requested 250h of breaking in time to really shine, lb8 is brighter as it have a wizzler cone, but it is far far to be fatiguing, now I use them on 300b tube amps which helps...I never owned an EX version, I think that the need of 2 extra high end power supply, extra cables and extra cost on drivers makes it less appealing to me...

Hello, it depends what you mean with bright...to me yes they are but in a verry good way, they sound clear (bright ),detailed and open, but still really warm with solid bass concidering the size ( better than chr120 ) a bit beaming meaning that the listen sweet spot is narrow and small, the are absolutelly not shouting or fatiguing like my fostex fs168ns where when untreated, and way less fatuiguing than my 11ms ( that I don't really like to be honnest). I hear alot good things about chp 90 I will probably test a set later this year in an fhxl...

The comments about the MS 11 s I find strange, as i find them a bit on the boring side, lacking mid range bite. I also have a pair of 5.3 and chr 70.3 of all these drivers I prefer the chr 70.3 in the mini towers. I was also looking into the EMS drivers, not so sure now after the comments.

I find 11MS quite rounded and gentle in upper mid and treble with 807 SE amp. With SS amp they have a bit more sparkle but bass is lighter. For all day background music and relaxing 11MS in FHXL was great choice for me (I don't do critical listening anymore, had enough of that)
