EMS drivers users for mid field

Hello community,
As far as I know, there is a relationship in the throw distance and low frequency development, so I ask those who have used EMS drivers, which will be suitable for a room that is only 3 meters. That is, if we subtract the chair in front of the equipment, the listening position (ears) would subtract about 30 cm from the throw distance, before reflecting the sound on the wall behind. This means that my listening point, given that the speakers will eventually not be butting up against the front wall, could be between near-field and mid-field, at about 2.3 meters or less.

Of course it's always preferable to have the widest extension, so I originally thought of the LB12MKII, but I'm pretty sure a larger spacing is needed. So the next best candidate in terms of extension was the LB8MKII.
Now I've been looking at the LB8MKII, LB7MKII and LB6MKII drivers, with the first one being the lowest in frequency range of course, but given the limitations, does anyone know which would be the most suitable for this space?
Btw, I'm using a 300B SET integrated amp (about 7 watts).
Looking forward.

thanks for the input @GM , but I have no problem with SPL, given that my 7 watts and the efficiency/sensitivity of these drivers can reach high levels. It's really just a matter of getting an idea of how much bass extension, primarily, is adequate for a space with that small of a throw. There is one element missing to get the equation right to solve it, which surely for those who have gone much deeper into designing a driver for a given room, may be very simple, which is not very much the case. Eventually, I don't need the concrete answer, if it is or you imply in your input, but some help in finding the variables I need to solve for.

You're welcome!

True, so as I understood your Q, you got your answer, i.e. as I understand it there's no relationship in the throw distance and low frequency development WRT your app.

I'm way out of date re driver design, but never have seen/heard of designing a driver for a particular space, only a speaker system designed for 'X' SPL @ 'Y' F-3, 6 or 10 @ 'Z' power, which may require a new driver design. 'Throw' would be by the cab's/horn's design.

As for your room, it's large enough that in theory its room gain will begin in the 30s with just the visible dims, so could be lower if well sealed, but IME, short of a below grade concrete basement or similar, best to design based on none except boundary loading plus with one speaker opening into a corridor will IME need to be tuned different from the somewhat corner loaded one.

Another general requirement is the bass being +6 dB eff. referenced to the mains for baffle step compensation and how low it goes is usually dependent on what's the lowest frequency your system needs to reproduce at 'X' SPL @ 'Y' F-3, 6 or 10 @ 'Z' power.

Hi Beto,

EMS LB 12 feels like a little bit too much for such a small space. LB 8 and the smaller drivers should be fine, I´ve listened to LB 8 for quite some time at app. 2.5 m distance (but in an OB with additional bass driver), just that the driver had much more space in his back.
I think the main issue in a small room is the choice of the right enclosure for LB 8 or LB 7 or LB 6, and how large a box you´re willing to tolerate.
If you´re interested in a relatively cheap ownership experience, I still have my old LB 8 Mk II for sale, just send a PM.
If you´re interested in own measurements for enclosure calculation, I can help with those, too.

All the best
