thanks
thanks
Maybe Fostex (infinity and Canton? used Fostex OEM) - see site and Madisound. Replace a pair and take measures to equalise sensitivity -> L-pad ->-> choose greater sensitivity ribbon drivers and pad them down to the desired level. Observe nominal impedance as ribbons show almost short cirquit DCR
Emit are employed in some pretty decent and big speakers. It is very common that big number of their owners do not posses an amplifier powerful enough to harm them in normal operating range. Thus you should investigate crossover components for failure leading to the occurred driver failure! Aim for the capacitors primarily...
This is said on the grounds of my experience with ribbons employed in a system that takes 300-350W peaks with >200W mean levels regularly without any fatigue, distortion or failure!
