This driver is the best for small sizes subwoofer I know:
LAB12 - Loudspeakers | Eminence Speaker
Eminence Lab 12 – Musikhaus Thomann
Very special but OTOH even necessary is the kind of low level bass transmission due a very low loss suspension (Qms ~13).
Various other models have great disadvantages in this respect - only in the high level area the bass is present in the right manner.
Unfortunately I know only diy versions where this driver is in use - the only commercial product I know with this driver comes from BK electr. - go to
Monolith Plus -FF
Thanks for advices in advance.

You do know it was designed specifically for the LABsub PA horn don't you? Tom Danley set the parameters for it and got Eminence to make it. It works beautifully in a small sealed ~40Hz F3, ported at 22Hz and in the LABsub. I've used mine in all 3, but the conventional designs were mine, just worked out in a sim program, typically Unibox. 4 of them are going into a new ported PP design in the NY. Awesome driver.

Being a vintage spec driver, its standard prosound vented app alignment is Vb = Vas/1.44, Fb = 1.56*Fs.

I re-posted the LABsub plans in post #8 :
LAB subwoofer plans
The LAB12 works well in this ported design:
FREE SUB PLAN: Dual Lab12 (Front Loaded) by Welter Systems | Sound Forums
And also in the tapped horn Keystone Sub:
Keystone Sub Using 18, 15, & 12 Inch Speakers
Although the LAB12 is a good driver, there are drivers with far more output capability available now.
