Please tell me the difference in the transistor 2SA1216/2SC2922 and 2SA1295/ 2SC3264. I want to use them to DIY some high quality amplifier. In the datasheet, they seem identical except for differences in voltage, 2SA1295/3264 have withstand voltages ( max 230Volt ) greater than 2SA1216/2922 ( max 180Volt ), but my amplifier running under +/-70VDC. For the best performance please guide me choose the one?
Is the 2SA1295/3264 are low price of 2SA1216/2922 version?

Comparing 2sa1216 to 2sa1295, the first one has a better current gain linearity.
Hfe is flat untill 5A. Ft is a bit higher too.
Though, I have built an amp using 5 pairs of 3264/1295 of which i am very pleased.

Hey don't dismiss their thermal resistant.
A1295 has a bit better thermal resistant than A1216. Also there already A1494 with much better thermal resistant. It is SANKEN superiority. It affect greatly on its reliability.

I have both at my home..used both several times
I have burned some of them, 2SC2922 and 2SC3264.
To me, no doubts, the best one is 2SC2922.

which design did you use? There are very few designs out there with 5 pairs of Sanken 2SA1295/2SC3264. Rotel RB1090 is one of them. Good amp. Unfortunately many transistors in this amp are obsolete, which means, very hard to find and expensive.

I used a lme49810 driver chip and the RB 1090 output stage + one pair, without the predrivers.

70 volt rails with 5 sets of transitors doesnt make any sense unless you are willing tio drive very low loads ....
at 70 volt rails this circuit will hapilly work with 3 sets of transitors

The rotel works at 95volts rails.
the rotel works with a VI limmiter and the 49810 with a baker clamp i can't tell which is better but since i am a classic guy i will choose vi limmiter
o yes something i ve missed ...i was told that the best way to work this ic is to supply it with a few volts more than the output stage makes sense but will cause construction issues

it's "very high", because as i see the amplifier usually only about 400 of damping factor.
