For Sale: Emerald Physics CS2 Open Baffle Speakers in perfect condition with Behringer programmed DCX2496 crossover and original boxes.
Very interesting speakers that actually surprised me...just not quite as good as my Quad ESL...so up she goes...need two stereo amps to drive these...I used my homebuilt 4 channel ICEPower 500ASP / 500A amp and sounds very very dynamic...very Live-like...
Pick up in West sub of Chicago - would rather not ship....
How's $875?

I wish I was closer and had a little extra cash. First time I heard these at RMAF I was floored. Someone is going to get some damn fine sounding speakers.
Yup, I read about someone who dumped their Quad ESL-63 after hearing them and naturally became interested. After setting up and running thru my standard collection of test music, I was pleasantly surprised on how 'Lifelike" these were.
I can easily see how someone who has the want / need to drive their delicate Quads to high SPL levels, to really appreciate music, would really like these. They are that good.
In the end, I have a smallish room where the Quads work quite well at not so high SPL levels, so keeping the Quads.
My ESL-988 have displaced many Electrostatic, planar and conventional speakers in my little room, and now have two pairs (wife hates me anyway, so.... bah).
I actually thought of using them in my band (I am the "Johnny Bravo" Guitar Player in this band - only "needed" in band to fix all Guitar amp, PA and other sound issues) as a high level PA system, but decided against it....
