I have the official Elektor Archive on a USB drive and am having issues with the main index page. A large chunk of the files (which curiously are those dated from 01/01/2000 (lol, millennium bug) report as not available. All the files are present and correct and all open normally if you drill down and find them manually on the drive.
When hovering over each title on the index I see anything with a 'US' (presumably as in USA) will not open. All the ones that open correctly have EN and not US in the file path. I tried remaining one as a test, but it doesn't work.
All titles open OK if opened from the root of the folder.
I'm asking Elektor over this but wondered if anyone else had come across this.
In image #1 you can see the file path in the lower left of the screen when hovering over a title. It is the ones with US in that do not open.

An update on this.
Elektor initially agreed to replace the drive, however today they have back tracked on that promise and say that given as the drive was ordered 15 months ago (actually end of Aug 2021) they will not now replace it. I have my own views on that regarding customer service
I'm sure the drive is not defective or corrupt, it is not that kind of issue, it has simply been compiled incorrectly with incorrect file paths for a block of 3 years worth of articles.
I have found that renaming all affected pdf's from UK to US so that it matches what the index points to corrects the problem. Years 2000 to 2003 were affected. I have left the original drive untouched and renamed the local files on my PC.
These are the corrected file paths for one sample year:
And this is how they originally compiled:
There is also another minor issue, some titles are duplicated in the index and so render the wanted article unreachable via the index. You have to browse manually for the file.
Here is one such example. This renders February 2004 'missing':

Interesting, in the initial communication with Elektor they said they would replace it with a '2021' numbered stick as soon as possible, which reading between the lines suggested perhaps they were aware of the issue.
Thanks 🙂
Thanks 🙂
Perhaps Nisbeth could share with you just the index file. Under the circumstances I don't see how they could mind.
🙂 let me see what happens with Elektor... I've not given up yet.
What would be interesting for Nisbeth to look at if he doesn't mind is whether he can see an 'extra' button in the files. The drive opens to this:
In the 'en' folder is this:
The 'extra' button opens to a comprehensive index of pcb layouts of 125 entries. All these are dead links and the 'shared' folder mentioned contains only three small unrelated images on mine.

Good news from Elektor. After setting out the case again they have agreed to replace the drive. So well done Elektor, we got there in the end.

- Elektor Archive on USB. Anyone have one of these that could check for an issue with the index?
