How is the sound compared to TU-879S? TU-8233 is far better than TU-879S in every respect. Just the OPT is 4 time bigger than TU-879S.

Is there a 300B tube kit available, or do all the kits have the 2A3 tubes (if tubes are included that is...) And is this a power amp with an Alps pot at the input? More interested in running as a power amp. Are most electrolytics caps of Japan manufacture (Elna, Nichicon)?

TU-8233 is made in Japan (all parts are made in Japan including the OPT and R-core except the tubes sets)
TU-8233 includes 2A3 X 2 + 6sn7 X2. The 300B is optional.

Will the 8233 run with the "Shuguang Treasure CV181-Z". Can also have some infos about the "amtrans upgrade kit for TU-8233" I upgraded the pot and the caps to the VitaminQ at the time of purchase. What could I expect from the new uprgade. "I love the Amp with my newly build full range Tang Band W8 1772.
