Electrovoice SP12C data?

Hey all,

It's been a while since I asked a good question around here.

So here goes;

Has anybody got information on the electrovoice SP12C driver?

I have a pair here and I'm thinking of using them as mid-basses in a system.

They look fairly formidable and sound really nice for mid-range.

I have an SP-12 and would love to find a match to make a pair. This has a huge alnico magnet, 2-1/2" VC, long lived treated cloth accordion surround and a whizzer cone. Efficiency seems pretty high.
Amyone got specs on these? The SP-12B looks totally different. I haven't seen a SP-12C.

Holy smokes, that is way different from the 12C.

The 12C has a tiny magnet on it, though it does have a cast aluminium frame.

Yours looks a heck of a lot better.

Hi

Here's a nice site on Vintage E.V. speakers.

Also I have this data for the SP12C from a forum post, but I don't recall if these are "official" or messured by s.o.

SP12C likes 140L vented cabinets, and goes down to ~ 40 Hz.

37-10000 Hz
100dB /1W/1m
111 dB max
25W
8 Ohm
45Hz fs
0,67 Qt
0,1672 m³ VAS

best, LC

SP12 I think.

I believe I have an SP12 variant.
Is there any way to tell, and are there pics somewhere on the web.
It has a 12 inch woofer, and 2 horns in a 18 inch wide X 40 inch tall cabinet. Plus a weird chevy logo shaped vent with some electronics visible through ...
Cool.
Srinath.
