Electromagnetic lock

Hi everybody,

I plan to made an ESL.
This thread is only to know if there is a way to build an ESL with a electromagnetic lock ? Is someone have tried it or think about it ?

In first stage of reflexion was about the non inverted polar of magnet, but with some electromagnetic lock put inverted, maybe it should work or never ?

ESL's work by "electrostatic" forces and not "electromagnetic" forces . jer

I'll try to explain,

As i know ESL is possible only because of use of magnet.
So, Electromagnetic lock is big magnet.
My question is, if i mode it could i replace 'standard' magnet with the electromagnetic lock ?

Maybe there was something lost in the language translation: ESL speakers do not use magnets.

Planar dynamics and ribbons DO use magnets. Sounds like you are thinking about modualting the magnetic field, not just the field created by current thru the ribbon or diaphragm. Your magnetic door lock (like used in a high-security people-trap) electromagnet may not achieve high frequency.
