Oh, don´t worry Tosh. Regarding the fact, that most of theses guys don´t know what they are talking of in technical terms, I find it hard to believe they´d be able to analyze what the real reason for the ´coloration´ is, or where it actually stems from.
If they´d only concentrate on what they are able to .... hearing and descrition of what they heard ... and leave the technical stuff to the technicians.
But hey, on the other hand I´d need a new set of comic books then 😀

I would not be surprised if most material choices leave an audible footprint on the sound (in loudspeakers).Different films do sound different, but I have never heard anything that resembles plastic film (or credit card) in the sound.
