The EL84 based 18 Watt has quite a dedicated following and there are lots of online forums for it. Mods, parts and variations are plenty, and there are a lot of boutique amp builders now offering up products in that wattage range. I think that it hits a sweet spot for guitar players, and is reasonably straightforward to build. Overall a very good project amp IMHO.
