el34 bugleboy SE amp schematic

If you were building an SE amp with nos bugleboy el34 tubes and Silk Audio transformers, what schematic would you use? I am looking to get the most "lush" sound from them as I can. I have found several schematics online (google search), but am really not sure which would get the best from these tubes.

Any help appreciated.

I have that amp. Nice sound it uses el34A tubes I think. I’ll look and see

Which Silk Audio single ended output transformer?

You can use the EL34 in Pentode mode, Triode Wired mode, and Ultra Linear mode.
Most Silk single ended output transformers have a UL tap, but not all.

Using global negative feedback, local negative feedback, no negative feedback.

The answers to your question of which schematic to use, are about as many as those who answer your question.

Tell us something about your requirements:

What kind of speakers, efficient horns, power hog in-efficient, or medium efficiency.
Listening quietly in a small room; loud rock in a large room (you will need horn speakers, or a more powerful amplifier than a single ended EL34 amp).

I am curious, I might be interested in the Silk Audio transformers.
Are you having your Silk Audio transformers shipped from Thailand,
or do you have a local NC distributor, or US distributor?

The transformers will be the s325f model (3k version). I will have to order them from the manufacturer.

My speakers are audio nirvana 15" super alnico drivers in ported bass reflex cabinets. They sound awesome.

My music listening habits are moderate volume in a narrow but somewhat long bedroom. Im not fortunate enough to have my amps in my living room. The whole WAF thing.

Music...rock and jazz, but like I said, moderate levels. I really dont crank it up.

lexx21,

I have lots of near-field Hi Fi vacuum tube systems in my house.
One at the computer in the kitchen/dining room.
One in the downstairs bathroom.
One downstairs next to my tube-amp building work table.
One in the bedroom (that one has a tuner, CD player, and an Amplifier, and the power strip is plugged into a timer . . . put music on, and it shuts off automatically).

If I remember correctly, the different vacuum tube amplifier's output powers range from 3 watts to 6 Watts. Plenty of power for me.

The bigger living room has speakers on either side of the flatscreen TV, and is powered by a solid state amp for when I watch DVDs. I do not listen to music on that system.
