Re: Eddyiots Abound
When did I say anything otherwise?
The problem is that this still has nothing to do with anything I've said.
Sorry, Eric, but I lose patience rather quickly with those who are as contextually impaired as you are.

Steve, are you still missing out on sex lately, or is it the nickel sound that you live with that is affecting you. - c'mom man, lighten up a bit or something.
Sorry, Eric, but I lose patience rather quickly with those who are as contextually impaired as you are.

Lack Of Patience Is A Classic Symptom.
At least I am not sexually impaired.
Also I do not, and will not listen to nickel - sorry if this is over your head.
One day I may explain this concept to you.
Eric.

Re: Lack Of Patience Is A Classic Symptom.
Don't bother. I don't care to have any further involvement with you at any level.

Nickel Poisoning.
You seem to have taken somekind of dislike to me since we first ever met on this forum a good while ago, and when you returned to this forum relatively recently, you decided to continue your acidity.
I did send you a private email a few weeks back saying 'whoa mate, chill down a bit', and you did so for a short while, but clearly you have returned to your acrid self.
Funny how others and I are able to communicate effectively, but you choose to to adopt a different mode.
Actually I find you to be a deeply negative and profoundly humourless person, and all too often you insert objections in all manner of threads around here, and real and constructive help is consistently lacking from you.
Just as I am not an audio god, neither are you.
Eric.
Perfectly fine by me and right now would not be soon enough.Don't bother. I don't care to have any further involvement with you at any level.

Hi Steve
I gotta say this but Eric has kicked off at quite a few folks recently and is fresh out of the sinbin . He likes to call people idiots , hangs around in the Tubes forum and calls people idiots there (even though I doubt he has any experience with tubes) not very much in the way of technical postings so just ignore him .
Nothing personal Eric , view your postings from another's perspective and you'll see what I mean

Hi,
316A,
O.K., so Eric can be provocative at times and to be quite frank 😉 so can I.
I must say in Eric's defense that at times SE can be pretty hopeless in his arguments...you just get the impression that he just wants to misread you and has just an axe to grind.
It may come as a surprise but it isn't always like that and I'm sure that with a little goodwill all can be ironed out.
Take your pick: "Good Will Hunting' or Educating Rita".
Cheers,😉

Re: SE.
Please do not take this as any sort of attack, but from the past few examples that I've read, there is a profound difference:
Eric:

You:
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=11742&perpage=15&pagenumber=10
I believe you both had argued yourselves into a corner, and rather than finish the discussion logically and with scientific method, you both resorted to hurling insults and vague comments that lead nowhere.
Now in your defense, these are only two examples, and there may be plenty that show counter evidence.
But these are two relatively recent discussion threads.
Why not take Steve up on his questions?
Provide some independently verifiable scientific evidence to back up why you disagree with what he's saying and help us all to learn.
I'm still waiting to learn about if and how cones perform differently spike up or down, since I'm designing feet for a new enclosure right now.

Re: Re: SE.
Actually I wasn't saying, I was asking.
I've found that some folks are a bit on the paranoid side and take offense at anyone asking questions of their claims and consider questions to be akin to some sort of personal attack.
Suffice to say if I think someone is full of crap, I'll flat out say I think they're full of crap and explain why I think they're full of crap. I don't beat around the bush.
When I ask questions, it means that while I think what they're saying MAY be incorrect, I'm not so confident in my own understanding to say it is incorrect with a sufficient level of confidence and am prepared to learn something new if there's something to be learned.
I already stopped posting on another board because of a few who were so paranoid they get wholly defensive when questions are asked of them and it's beginning to look like Frank is the same way, which is sad because other than that particular quirk, I think he's an ok guy.

We're Baaaack.
Hi Frank,
Business as usual ?.
316a, those who choose to misread or are unable to understand posts and then raise unfounded objections place themselves into the category of idiots - those with understanding know that they are not.
FYI, I do have plenty of experience repairing tube amplifiers, and I have modified a few, and I have constructed a couple.
True, the vajority of my experience is with SS, but certainly not exclusively, and of cource standard electronic theory describes both types.
316a, I do have 20+ years of experience in repairing, building, modifying, improving and listening to all manner and types (thousands) of examples of domestic and hi-end and pro audio equipment, so your comment is unwelcome thankyou.
I also understand tv, video and all manner of other electronic equipment.
Eric / - experienced and still learning like the rest of us.

Phew what a discussion 😉 But were is Dre gone?
Simple question: How do you get that CAT5 LS cable construction though the tubes in the floor anyway without damage?
But serious, I did use computer (40 strands) flatcable with great satisfaction for LS cables. Quite easy to shuffle under the carpet, no noticeable skin effects at audio frequencies, sufficient cross section, and low capacitance.
Cheers

Blowing some talcum powder through the conduit can help a lot.
Also best to use a draw-wire to pull the cat-5 through.
Eric.
