You shoud open a specific topic imho : what cheap calibrated mic !
USB can be noisy, unlike symetric wire, usb length has to see with the USB protocol used and so on ! I don't know for the Umic : how can they do margin at this price if individual calibration ??? maybe a factory process ? Really don't know.

TNT,
You know what ? It's modern art : would stay like that and just paint the ball with another color : Mars red... quite serious here and my taste are going more towards classic art, but hey it's looks good here !
I will not do it quite like that. I might start a thread.. w'll see...

Well the colors was if you were leaving the two pieces on the parquet floor as showed only !
I will be also intimidated by an orange horn in the living room ! Well a truck air chambler is maybe easier for the tear drop horn while the ballon permits to start from the mouth size one want... the driver that doesn't touch the horn is a good idea to avoid horn vibration... or maybe horn in a horn like the sanded enclosures we saw in the 70s/80s : much complex !
sorry for the OT.

I have been looking into microphones, etc.
PRM1 | PreSonus
This seems to be well designed; anything better or more accurate in this price range???
And maybe use it with this???
UR12 | Steinberg
Would these work well together with REW even if I don't have an actual mic. calibration/correction file or tool???
Thanks, I have played around with speakers for over 50 years now but know almost nothing about the latest mics and measurement hardware and software
Anyone and everyone feel free to chime in here; is there a better thread to help steer me in the right direction for mics and measurement???
Yup, I know you're very experienced with speakers design (I am not), that's why I inputed about a fast ask with a specific topic, you will have a rapid answer. I'm not experienced enough to advise you, the few I know I told you and the brand I have is german, not easy for you, better to get local, it is not rocket science. No idea about brands and concistency though...
Ikea bowl speaker build with subwoofer at bottom and down-firing. Hard to build but spherical enclosures do really seem to open up the sound stage in a "3-D" way. Domes only for tweeter and mid, and phase plug in the woofer. Dispersion is excellent. Diffraction effects minimized. Internal resonances are minimized (with also a three-component damping system added for good measure). The woofer sphere has an internal mounting pole in the center so standing waves cannot form.
