ECC88 Shield

Hi,

I am in the process of designing a preamp with ECC88 tubes on a pcb, with extended bandwidth. I have two options of grounding the tube shield (pin 9). I can do this on the pcb; trace it to the pcb's ground-plane, and secondly; screw it down through the pcb to the chassis. The ground-plane on the pcb and the chassis are wired together, thus are electronically one. Some say it does not make a difference, others say grounding to chassis is better to minimize RF pickup. ECC88 are high frequency devices, so any concerns are present, as I will try to minimize high frequency filtering.

Does anyone have experience with this.

Cheers
