I just just a jig saw. Drill two holes near opposing corners and cut down the two sides and then go to the other hold and do the same. You can either file the corner where your made the hole or else use your jig saw and clean that up as well. I usually put some tape or something non marring under the feet of the jig saw and cut out square holes. Quick and easy.

Get some diamond cutting wheels for your dremel on ebay. You can get a 5 pack for less than $6 shipped, they are difficult to break, and will last a long time. One can cut several dozen nails.

The routers I have won't cut it...

I used a small cutting wheel on the dremmel. Cut through steel like a hot knife through butter.
