Earphone Cable Question

I am using Canare L-2B2AT wire, it has one +, one -, and one ground. 3.2mm total diameter. My dad's kind enough to solder it together for me, but he asked a question I don't know how to answer.

For a 3.5mm MMCX cable, for this Canare wire, do I have to double up the wire for it to work? Meaning, for example, 2x1.3m?

Help would be appreciated.

Thanks alot,
Kasper

I'm not sure what you mean by 'doubling up', Kasper.

However, the Canare wire would be suitable as a replacement cable for earphones which use a 3.5mm, three pole, TRS plug.

I believe he is asking If he needs to run one cable to each earpiece.
Depends on the headphones. If there is a cable connecting the two sides, one cable is enough. You connect one of the wires to the entering earpiece, and the other wire to the cable that carries the signal to the other earpiece. Ground is common to both.
