WOW. 93 full screen images (totalling about 9 megabytes) detailing every single minute step of the assembly operation. There's something to be admired about this but I don't know what it is. In the last photo it's about half completed. Continued soon, I guess.
Hai

I (for one) like all the pictures detailing your steps. I'm always interested to see the process someone else goes through when building a speaker. Thanks for the pictures.

I also once built a speaker with these two driver types, though mine didnt look as nice as yours. It wasn't a floorstander, its shape was more like the old Contour 1.3.
The most astonishing thing for me was the bass reproduction of this speaker. It was the first small speaker that I ever built and I never expected the performance that it had.
Out of curiosity I once connected them to a 400 Watt P.A. amp and turned the volume up. You couldn't get it bottoming with normal recordings (i.e. no explosions or the like, just music) the sound just went a little stressed and blurred, thanks to the woofer's progressive restoring force.

What does mk2 stands for because I've got a nuance but it seems the same ????
Please if possible, remove the filter outside the cabinet, your soundstage and base will be much bettre (almost 1,5L more of volume)
I brought mine to the ddiy_2004 last year and got lots of compliments hopefully yours will be as succesfull to.

Hai,
The difference in the mk2 is that there is pritex used and no baf. and there is a closed cabinet for the tweeter ruud from speakerland has tell me this.
I used some tape on the bassreflex port for resonatie.
I only have to vineer it.
sorry for my english

Ahhhh,
that's a big difference even if you take in account that the "tweeter box" has always been separate from the beginning (ca. 1996). If you have the guts you can even fill this part sand after you protected the tweeter with some klingfilm

maartentje,
Beautiful job. As a long time fan of Dynaudio, (even have them in my car, but alas, not my home yet) I love what you're doing. If only we could still get the raw drivers here in the states......
