I picked up a really nice looking pair of these speakers, and they have a nice sound to them, but on one speaker the purple Wharfedale tweeter had no output. It appears to be the crossover, as when I wire directly to the driver it produces sound.
So I think I need to fix the crossover or replace them both.
Then I was trying to work out if this has two tweeters or if the paper cone is a mid-range. Any ideas? The paper cone is by Goodmans.
Pictures attached....
Cheers.

Also, I have a basic M-830B multimetre, any advice as to how to check the two capacitors and coils? So far I have only managed to check the old green resistor, which seems to be OK.
Cheers

the coils are just a length of wire, so should show continuity.
Replace those caps, the black one in particular is notorious for going bad
Looks like some of the terminals aren't soldered to the PCB traces, that may help ensure reliable connections

Ok, thanks, I'll replace the elcaps and may as well replace blue ones too..makes sense to replace both pairs even though other one is working. And maybe I will t solder the connections. Cheers.
I have a multi-meter, but it doesn't have a farad measurement. So as suggested online I used the ohm measurement and set it to 2000k and I noticed that both capacitors seemed to charge up, gradually rising to 1. which I believe is infinity. Does this mean they are OK?
OK, well I was sure that I had got a signal from the tweeter when I wired directly, but after I replaced caps and the tweeter still didn't work I took a closer look. One of the copper threads to the tweeter coil had burnt out! Maybe it was me. So after a fidgety soldering job I got it reconnected and they are working great now.
