I have some NOS potted Dynaco output transformers that are marked “Dynaco 454003” on the baseplate and someone wrote A430 on the side. Looking at Dynaco’s literature, I think it’s an A-431. Can anyone verify this for me? I’m planning to use a pair in a build of Pete Mille "Engineer's Amplifier" 50 watt monoblock amps.
Thanks

It is is one of these, 430 or 431, the main and maybe only difference is the 4 ohm output connection on the 431. 430 only had 16/8.
Dynaco 454003 is their complete house part number, as would be found in a BOM.
The 454XXX were OT, and 464XXX were PT.

I have not encountered a potted A-431, does it actually exist? I have only seen A-430’s (with 8 & 16 Ohm secondaries) in that size Dynaco “Super-fidelity” potted output transformer.
In reply to OP’s original question, A-430 should work well in the “ Engineer’s Amp” if you can live with only 8 and 16 Ohm outputs.
