DXers: how does alpine's maxtune tuners compare to pioneer's supertuner IIID?

Hello, I was wondering how alpine's maxtune plus, sq, and pro tuners compare to pioneer's supertuner IIID in terms of first adjacent selectivity performance, sensitivity, and overall sound quality and if alpines have the same adaptive IF reception technology like pioneer has on the IIID. I have a supertuner IIID unit (deh-p4900ib) that delivers in spades and I love it, but most of the new pioneers look more like something made by insects from another planet for showrooms than by human beings for cars, especially when you go higher up, and alpine has more down to earth looks and I know them to be quality. I've had great luck with their other stuff, but I've never owned any of their newer headunits with the new tuners. I've tested their older pullout units, and they had downright TERRIBLE tuners (the ones with the tm-100 tuners) compared to pioneer's.

So if I go for alpine in the future, would I be making a good decision tuner wise?

DXers please chime in.
