Has anyone of you ever tried or is still ripping dvd's?

If so and if your pc runs under XP, what software did you use?
What speed has the cpu?

Thanks,

I rip dvds all the time, and i love to use smartripper as part of the gordian knot encoding package, which can be found at http://www.doom9.org which is a great site for files and information about encoding
btw, my specs are
P4 2.53 Ghz
512mg ddr333
80 gb 7200rpm 8mb cache hd
Radeon 9700 pro
16x dvd drive

ripping doesnt take that long, usually 5-20 mins, and encoding usually takes under 5 hrs. 😀

I rip on my FreeBSD box via DeCSS and the mplayer encoder project. My machine is a Dual AthlonXP 1600+ with two 9.1G U160 drives in RAID for temporary storage and two 80G WD800JBs for storage. I have 512M of RAM and a 16x Pioneer. I can encoded SVCDs in real time along with MPEG4 depending the bitrate.
