Hi all
I have a farly new dvd player but the other week it died. I check every thing even the fuses and stuff inside! So i took out all the boards and stuff. Is there any thing i could do with the drive or board with all the video and audio conectors? Wire it up to a hard drive or something? (were you can play mpegs and pics on your tv , it has been done!)

Is there anything i can do with it?

Thanks alot
Matthew

what make and model player could i get that still be around or on ebay that uses an ide interface?
As long as it supports IDE could it bepossibleto add a hard drive?
I could make the HDD also external so you could plug a usb in to the player.
I have seen this done( a whole site about it) but icant find that type of player! Is there any i could look for ?I am in the UK.

Most cheap players use IDE but it is the software and hardware that makes it possible to run a harddrive instead of a DVD drive.

In most cases for a standard cheap DVD player it is NOT possible to make it work with a harddrive.

Players like KiSS, Sigmatek and many more support harddrives in the right version.
