Dust cover now too small

I have decided to add a second arm to my turntable. However, even with the second arm in its stowed position, the dust cover I have been using (Goldring GL75) will be too small. I don't use the cover when playing records. I may even construct a new plinth but this won't sort out the cover problem.

Any advice on any larger covers that are available or how other people have got round a similar problem would be appreciated, as would any tips on constructing one. Thanks.

Hi:

This isn't a DIY sort of response, but I purchased a custom-made plexiglas cover for my turntable (Maplenoll Apollo) from a guy named Vinh Vu over 12 years ago. He did beautiful work on a complex project strictly according to my design criteria, and I couldn't be happier. It appears that Vinh Vu now owns a company called Gingko Audio which, amongst other things, sells custom turntable covers. I have no relationship with him, other than as a satisfied customer, but do recommend his services in case you choose to buy instead of build.

Regards,
Scott
