Yes I do! And I remember their battery weren't very good, didn't last long. DOn't remember if they leaked.
Duracells are the worst!
I no longer buy Duracell as they always leak! I have many devices that have been destroyed by leaking Duracell batteries.
Energizer hasn't leaked, even cheap Chinese batteries don't leak, only Duracell....
Duracell no longer gets my money....

I fondly remember the Radio Shack "Battery of the month" club.
And yeah, I had my little card with me and got those free batteries all the time.
I never turn down free... LOL!
Also, I never had a Ray-O-Vac battery ever leak.... or the Wallgreens brand.

I used Engerizer. They often leaked. So I began to use Duracell. They leaked too.Duracells are the worst!

And Varta, I don't remember, recent one seem not to be very good.
My current stock has now some Panasonic, various products of this company I experimented are trustworthy.
I've started buying ray-O-Vac as I don't remember ever having one leak in the past. Fingers crossed. Also, I never had a Ray-O-Vac battery ever leak....
I used and sold Varta for years, I don't specifically remember them leaking. They aren't easy to find around here.
Energizer owns Varta and Rayovac now.

Yes we buy those by the case at work for wireless microphones. I haven't seen one leak but they are changed out every day, so they don't get much chance to leak. 🙂
*******' Duracell strikes again! I "thought" that I had pulled all the Duracell batteries from my gear, only to just find a 9V in my trusty old Radio Shack SPL meter. Of course it had leaked. 😡 Negative terminal very corroded. A lot of scraping and cleaning and putting a new battery in and out, finally it works - for now. Just when I thought I was safe from the dreaded Dura-hell it bites again. That's what I get for thinking.
Be sure to clean everything very, very carefully: some of the tiny almost invisible, frost-like crystals that are sometimes generated can wreak havoc in very distant locations even if they look pretty harmless (they are probably potassium carbonate, based on the cell's chemistry).*******' Duracell strikes again! I have already been bitten: I thought that a thorough cleansing of the affected area would suffice, but in high-impedance circuits, they can create intractable leakages.
Has anyone else had trouble with leaky Duracell coppertop batteries. Lately I've had a rash of failures in AA and AAA. Even leaking in the original package in a storage drawer. No other brands have done this, not Ray-O-Vac, not Energizer, Varta or ...
Anyone else seeing this?
My dad had leaky Duracells in the 1970's and 1980's. Swore off of them then. Something about Mallory maybe? Steel caps that corrode? LOL
There's just no reason not to buy a quality rechargeable battery like the Panasonic Eneloop.
Cheaper in the long run, never any leakage, and very long self-discharge time.
Rated for over 2000 recharge cycles, and they hold a 70% charge for 10 YEARS.
The Panasonic Eneloop batteries have AAA and AA sizes. The AA also fits into the provided C or D shells,
for use in equipment needing those physical sizes. I've had these batteries for years. They are still perfect,
and I won't use anything else.
Sure they take overnight to recharge, that's to extend their useful life. Just buy some extra ones.
Fast charging a battery degrades its life and performance, including those in EVs.

Agreed. I've had this convo with my best friend many times. I'm in favour of phasing out primary cells, save for certain applications of cource. Nobody needs to use a rechargeable battery in a quartz clock.
Panasonic are great. Or EBL if you want to save some money. They make a nice charger, too.
I also have some Li-ion AA batteries that charge by USB. They last a while, too.

That's all I have used for years. I keep a number of extras on hand and have a 4 station slow charger so it works out well. There's just no reason not to buy a quality rechargeable battery
Oh, and did someone just say no leakage? I know they can but I own many and not one has ever leaked. I have mostly Energizer but some Duracell and even Panasonic and Noma.
