hello, i recently purchased a dukane imagepro 7010 on ebay with burnt on bulb on ebay for 150... its not here yet but i checked prices on replacement bulbs and it seems there about 400 bucks, so i was wanting to modifiy this to use a standard metal halide bulb, i realize the projector will have be be totally modified to accept the new light source since the mh bulbs will be much larger than the projector mh bulb it uses (this model does use mh) i was planning on getting a 400 watt mh ballast and all, i found a place to get this for 80, i was thinking something along the lines of building a box to connect to the projector and piping the light in concentrated through some type of lenses sense the bulb is larger, any help or tips would be greatly appreciated, also if anyone knows how good this projector is for tv, dvds, possible pc sometimes let me know.

not a bad price. You should have decent/good response time out of the 3 lcd panels....are you sure that the rest of it works right.....ie if the panels are misaligned or busted its worthless......do you have to do anything special to turn it on without the bulb? I bought a proxima DP5100 without the bulb for 170 shipped....only difference between ours is mine has electronic focusing and zoom lens..........but another one i bought for 61$ is missing the lens and bulb but is 640*480......so in a nutshell the 150 is a good price if the optics work.

hmm

well from what i have been told it should work with a bulb, he said as is.... but had no bulb to test it, coming from a computer surplus store.... he had two one without a switch that wouldnt power up and with, i got the one with a switch and he said it powers up.... i have an older sharp electronic screen im gonna use that is 100 inches, i have about 7-10 ft distance where i want to set this up should i be able to get the full 100 inches, from the specs this will go up to 200+ inches but im sure i couldnt achieve that in the distance i have.... also from what i read this one has electronic zoom, i read the specs on some site that listed it as around 5900 new.
