Hi
My Duelund Behemoth horn has arrived!
My god ,they are big , my girlfriend looks like an thunderstorm
They meassure:
59.5" high
24" wide
21" depth
over 220 pounds each.
I wrote last that the Coral Beta 10's were modified , correction , they are HEAVILY modified!
The spider has been replaced with a 3 point thread , special fluffy thread , that does not have any "sound" of it self, the phaseplug has been removed , and a 1/3 tabletennisdustcap fitted instead , this strenghten the voicecoil much, the cone and wizzer has a coat of "Isopunkt" , as used for roofing felt for repair(on zylen basis , not water!!) , an extra magnet is attached , and the voicecoil has been replaced with one from Beta 8's (more windings , still 8 Ohms).
All this resulted in a VERY flat frequency responce , mounted in the horn!
They are now 102dB/1W , Fs = 20HZ , Qt = 0.29 , meassured free air.
Impedance peaks: the horns have only 2 peaks in the bass , 24 Ohms max @ 40HZ and 60HZ if I remember right, and allmost no rising impedance the higher the frequency.
I have never heard such good bass from a 10" fullrange , organ notes flows freely and with great impact all the way down to 25HZ!
They image wonderfull , and I dont miss any tweeter.
No irritating peaks/dips or "shouting"!
I hope in the next few days , to take some photos of the Beta-mods and horns.
Best Regards
Goofey (An DIY'er , that at last found THE speakers🙂

Forgot to tell...
Because of the use of Beta 8 voicecoils , I got longer Xmax , the voicecoils are shorter , no wonder they pplay that low.
