dual Digitalinput question

Im building a dac and i want it to have 2 digital inputs, one 75ohm coaxial and one 110ohm AES. Im not intrested in using them both at the same time.

Is it possible to connect the pulse transformers as on the picture?

Im also intrested in building the ElsoKwak digital connection with ad8561 later when everything comes to rightplace. Would it be possible to connect it later to RXP an still have the 2 old inputs connected?

I would not hook that stinking Crystal receiver to any transmission line without something in between it to take care of all the hysterisis noise that piece of junk generates.

You would be much better off to connect each transformer to a litle circuit that isolates the RX chip from the line, and switch using some logic chip.

Hard words! You are back, alive and well (you haven't read about removing covers of caps?) I hope. We have missed you.

My DAC doesn't sound that crappy, in fact it sounds splendid despite the "crappy" reciever. It isn't the best reciever ever seen but not that bad either. I'm sure you can make improvements in the pulse detection area.

The connection diagram in the original post is likely to just not work. If you want more than one input, switch them in with relays.

You can also (I've seen it somewhere) connect the EBU transformer to one inputs and connect RCA to the other one. Skip the parallel connection (won't work?). It's OK to connect unbalanced signals to the receiver and it doesn't matter which of the inputs. Since you have transformers you don't need the receiver. If you only use one input you must decouple the other one with 10-100 nF. Simply gate the signals in a 74HCxx or 4xxx device. Notice that you can only use HEF4xxx (Philips). Other brands are too slow.
