I'm finishing up one of Miro's AD1862 DAC's, which runs in NOS with no filter. I am interested in tinkering with oversampling and filters from the PC side. Is anyone else doing this? What software should I be looking at?

I'm sure others will chime in too, but here's my 2c worth:
HQPlayer is probably the best option out there if you have a powerful enough PC for it, (especially when upsampling to DSD, but that doesn't seem to apply to your usecase here). I always use it either whenever I have to use it with a DAC, like the DSC2 or when I want to upsample music for my NOS DAC's or DAC's in NOS mode. However, I almost exclusively use HQPlayer to upsample to DSD128 or DSD256 and cannot comment much on it's ability to upsample to HiRes PCM, but I also never heared any complaints of friends and colleagues that do use it for that and was always a happy camper when I used the software for that myself.
Roon is also a very good option. Audirvana and JRiver do a good job, although I'm personally no fan, and I would say the free software foobar is a decent starting point and might suffice untill you can go for the HQPlayer software.
Oh and I'm not sure how and if you can implement filters in Audirvana or JRiver.
None of that should be taken as a recommendation for any of these programs, I'm just sharing my 2c and experience here and I would wait what other people have to say on that matter and what their experiences were with those programs.

I know Tfive uses Pulseaudio with soxr-vhq to interpolate things to 96 kHz sample rate, and with his set-up he had better results than anyone else in a listening experiment we did around August.

Yes I'm currently using Foobar and the oversampling DSPs there are easy to use. The main attraction to a different software would probably be filters (HQ Player has loads)

That seems like an interesting option. I was told to check out Pulseaudio by someone a while ago...
This one is a free download based on the excellent 'PGGB' engine. It is a s/w plug-in module for Foobar2000.

I realize this may sound like I want everything and for free -- I suppose I do -- but it doesn't hurt to ask 🙂

Thats the best way to stream. I guess youve sorted it out long ago as your post was 6mths back?
For others this can be done in Wiindoze with streamer > VB Virtual Cable> Foobar> DSP> Resample-V and add other DSP eg EQ etc if you are resourceful - and its all freeware
