Netsky is worth a listen
Photeks more recent stuff is worth checking out, a little slower than DnB but still sounds great IMO
Matrix - Sleepwalk
Ed Rush and Optical - Wormhole
Photek - Form and Function
DJ Teebee – Blacksciencelabs
These to me are a must listen for any dnb fan.

Tower of Power "Direct." Not modern, but really dynamic. I haven't heard the CD remaster, but if they didn't compress it or do EQ tricks, it's impressive. I have the direct disk version and it will definitely give your woofers a workout.

Never heard of Icicle before, thank you. Sounds good.

Went to a Big Band festival a while back, managed to listen to 8 of the 13 bands attending thanks to the great layout and planning of the event, one of the bands did ToP covers.
What I found interesting after going home from this event was that the best musicians gave the "worst" experience. The younger or more inexperienced musicians made some mistakes, but they had more of a "screw it if I/we mess up, it's all in good fun" attitude = more lively and playful,, vs the pro guys "no mistakes allowed, follow the plan strictly" approach = complex and advanced but also mechanical and analytical.
Think that all the musicians get stressed out thinking about the crowd they play for, it's the way they deal with it that makes the difference. But this also seem to happen in studio recordings. Often, but not always, I find advanced musicians seem to focus on the instrument and the notes and forget about the music and the feeling they want to project.
So anyway, imo two of the best bands there made some pretty bad mistakes during their concerts but they had this awesome feel that made me enjoy the experience more. Whereas two of the more pro bands sounded so boring and lifeless that I walked before halfway.

Yes!
There is hope!
Just purchased the album Jungle Revolution from Congo Natty. Can not believe it's been under my radar since 1st of july!
Congo Natty / Artist / Big Dada
Also purchased the single Lioness with La La & The Boo Ya feat Lady Chann (Also Congo Natty). Tune!
Currently listening to Lioness (Vital Elements remix), though the original version is much preferred in terms of sound quality.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRTGNdMJMd4&list=TL3mBUZdOJ_6EEeCIjj0vAFn5N9ACcfJZU
(also some of the tunes from the album there)
Now, if only we could only get rid of this dreaded compression and limiting.
Just as a side note, I love the music, but my commitment stops there, 'nuff said.

Have you tried scanning the sub genres on Digitally Imported.com . Its free!. I'm a heavy psytrance , hardstep and D&B listener.... it helps with ideas for my own tracks. Of course you can pay the few bucks per month to get the higher quality feed with no interupptions.

well pure drum and bass was really alive in the 90's.
Look for 90's output of squarepusher, photek, aphex twin, meat beat manifesto, Orbital (not everything but the good drum and bass stuff is perhaps the best there is): this is classic and most praised stuff. There a lot going for the 90's electronica scene and
On the modern side, theres a lot of stuff. Drum and bass then evolve in the 90's to become IDM.
IDM is a mix of drum and bass with more complicated sequence and patterns.
Look for Proems, Autechre, kettel, Arovane, Clark, Tycho, Wisp, jon hopkins. Those are my favorites electronica artist.

I have been on a HUGE Drum N Bass kick recently
I got back into DnB via this band: The Upbeats
They make some sick stuff. Sometimes with their stuff, you need to listen to from the beginning sometimes to really get the beat. otherwise it can sound a bit off kilter or you lose the build.
A few examples:
Alone - The Upbeats feat. Tasha Baxter (nice haunting vocals)
Dustup - The Upbeats and Noisia
Drum Stop - The Upbeats
Beyond Reality - The Upbeats
Another band I like that straddles between Dubstep and DnB is Black Sun Empire.
Dawn of a Dark Day - Black Sun Empire and Foreign Beggars
Hyper Sun - Black Sun Empire
Wasteland - Black Sun Empire
Other relatively recent tracks:
Desert Orgy by Misanthrope
September - Future Prophecies (sort of melodic DnB)
Slam - Pendulum (get the intro too which samples Carl Sagan)
Not really Drum N Bass per se but remixed by an artist mentioned earlier:
Spider (Jon Hopkins) - Leo Abrahms
It has some of the percussive elements of drum n bass but is more progressive and laid back. Almost hypnotic.
Now for the classics:
Drowning (Dave's Drum & Space Mix) - Cleveland Lounge
Space Invader (J Majik Remix) - Hatiras (yep this uses the theme from Space Invaders)
Love Is Not A Game - J Majik feat. Kathy Brown
Pornstar Style - AK1200
The list goes on and on.

I'd consider released in 2013 new. Though I did throw some old tracks in my recommendation. Frankly, I listen to a wide range of stuff. Old and new.
The OP asked about DnB not electronic in general. If the topic is electronic, my lists get MUCH MUCH MUCH longer.😀
I wasnt talking necessarly about your list but your list is a dubstep list mostly.
aphex twin, wisp and kettel are artist that definitely makes some kind of drum n bass in the past or even today
I dont want to be an ****, but besides jon hopkins remix, your list is kinda poor musically for me, I wouldnt recommend that to anyone, but thats just me

By recommending Aphex Twin, Wisp and Kettle you clearly don't know what Drum n Bass is. NONE of those are drum n bass in general. Aphex Twin (with songs like Digeridoo, is the closest) They are Glitch, Experimental, Downtempo, etc. Drum N Bass and dubstep are close relatives genre wise. That being said none of what I listed has ever been considered dubstep (except for the few noted exceptions). I grew up listening to drum n bass from the jungle era on. What you listed is just not it, not that its bad. I like all three of the artists your recommended. Its NOT drum n bass.
hmmm, they all integrate drum n bass in there music. To say that aphex twin is not aphex twin is only partially true but I understand what you mean, I guess that those artist I have cited is more idm then dnb, but gosh do I find dnb boring.By recommending Aphex Twin, Wisp and Kettle you clearly don't know what Drum n Bass is. my favorite is photek probably.
I dont see how dubstep is more related to dnb then idm.
most of your recommendation artist are what I consider as dubstep though

Hahahah!
Was waiting for something like this. I want new d'n'b, so any and all heads up are gratefully accepted. However, I have not actually purchased any of the recommendations posted in this thread, other than what I have discovered myself, everything has been thoroughly validated and checked out for sure, keeping tabs on some for evaluating future releases, this is about expanding my music collection after all. But no purchases so far, either I own it or I don't like it enough.
Now.
Just purchased today:
Single: Run Pon Dem/Step Up
DJ Hybrid - Run Pon Dem
Faul - Step Up
Also purchased for the first time in my life a single tune from a sampler album:
Blazing Faya Riddim The Jungle Remixes 2014 track #07
Jahmind - Dash Wey (Faul remix)
I would pay VERY good money for this tune:

It's not available anywhere!
