DRRI Volume Pot

Did you call Angela and ask them? Or did you not see it on their web site and assume the parts on the site were all they had?

WAIT!!!

Look at the photo in the Angela link. Hover the cursor over the photo to enlarge the view. Read the part number on the bag label... it is exactly the part you want.

If you are worried about the 49 on the end, that might mean nothing more than that it comes in a bag. The famous black plastic jacks with the clear tops Fender used for a long time changed their parts number when they started bagging them individually.

Now a word about stocking parts for popular amps. I have run a pro audio shop for the last 29 years, and being a Fender authorized warranty shop, among other brands, I order pots and things wholesale. I have draws ful of them. I still had to order pots all the time. Amp pots are all custom made for the OEM, Marshall 1M pots don't fit in Fender amps and vice versa. No matter how many types you carry, ther will always be more you don't have. Parts houses like Angela face this too.

If fender has the parts, any Fender parts seller can get them, even if they don't have them on hand locally.

If you need a "1M audio taper pot" you'll find a lot of them, many shops carrying them, and most if not all will work properly in your amp.

If you look for "003-759-600" instead, it's a specific Fender part number; only sourced from Fender itself.

That said, any authorized Fender dealer can order it for you.

And why does Fender state their own code number instead of the generic definition?

Because although all will *electrically* be the same, that particular part will have some specific *mechanical* characteristics, defining body size, pin separation, type (wire or PCB), threaded collar diameter, lenghth and thread, shaft length and shape, etc.

So if you are Fender Service, you just order the proper part, what in fact is opart of the servicing system.

If you are äll brands" service, not specially authorized for Fender, you order what you know from experience will work, from a general parts supplier or "fish" in , say, Angela or other specialized suppliers.

If you are far away, such as I am in Buenos Aires, you buy a standard part at some standard Electronics supplier and use it; adapting it if necessary (cutting/grinding the shaft, adding mounting wings, enlarging the panel hole or supplementing it with a washer, whatever's *mechanically* necessary).

No big deal.

Thanks guys.

I zoomed in and saw the number on the bag lol. I never knew they changed part numbers if it's in a bag.

I guess I should have called and bothered the sales people instead of you guys but that wouldn't be any fun 😛

I have in the past with amps just fit something that mechanically wasn't an exact replacement but electrically is. But for this amp I want an exact drop in replacement.

Thanks again for all your help!!!
